Isuzu JT Gemini 4WD Turbo Sports Sedan

1990-1994 Production Cars.         Re-manufactured in Australia..

1600 CC DOHC Constant 4WD Intercooled Turbo Irmscher Sports Sedan.

Body design is similar to the 2WD Sedans but they have a rear boot spoiler and come as standard with either Irmscher or Isuzu Alloy Wheels, and Recaro Bucket Seats.

Suspension:  This is modified by Irmscher to produce even better handling.  The front is an "A section" with MacPherson Strut type top mountings.  The rear is a properly located adjustable multi link design  with combined Coil Spring / Damper units and is set to provide Passive 4 Wheel Steering on all models.  Both ends have Stabiliser bars to minimise body roll and to improve traction.   All Coupes and Sedans handle extremely well but in 4WD form they go around corners as if on rails.

Brakes:  The front has ventilated discs with single piston fully floating callipers.  The rear has solid discs again with fully floating callipers.  The handbrake operates on the rear discs.  The Brake Master is a split / tandem vacuum boosted unit with a proportioning valve. The Braking effort required is low but powerful and proportional.  ABS braking is usually fitted to Irmscher 4WD Sedans.

Transmission:  The Manual 5 speed Isuzu transmission is precise and is coupled with a smooth cable operated clutch.  It is a delight to use.

A Limited Slip Rear Differential is fitted as standard for top Traction and Control.

Engine:  The DOHC 1600 Isuzu engines are shared with Lotus and are used in the new 1990 onwards Lotus Elan Sports Convertible.  They are smooth, powerful, rugged, and require little service attention apart from oil and filter changes.
