      Isuzu JT Gemini  Sports Coupe

1990-1994 Production Cars.           Re-manufactured in Australia..

Engine:  The DOHC 1600 Isuzu engines are shared with Lotus and are used in the new 1990 onwards Lotus Elan Sports Convertible.  They are smooth, powerful, rugged, and require little service attention apart from oil and filter changes.

Suspension:  The front is an "A section" with MacPherson Strut type top mountings.  The rear is a properly located adjustable multi link design  with combined Coil Spring / Damper units and is set to provide Passive 4 Wheel Steering on all models.  Both ends have Stabiliser bars to improve body roll and to improve traction.   

Brakes:  The front has ventilated discs with single piston fully floating callipers.  The rear has solid discs again with fully floating callipers.  The handbrake operates on the rear discs.  The Brake Master is a split / tandem vacuum boosted unit with a proportioning valve. The Braking effort required is low but powerful and proportional.

    ABS braking is fitted to some coupes - particularly manual transmission models.

0-100 Km in less than 8.3 Seconds.

Transmission:  The Manual 5 speed Isuzu transmission is precise and is coupled with a smooth cable operated clutch.  It is a delight to use. The 4 speed Jatco Automatic has computer controlled lock up for efficiency. .  Economy mode for everyday use.  Power / Sports mode allows the engine to reach much higher maximums in the intermediate gears and allows the driver to change to a lower ratio instinctively as required by simply increasing  accelerator pressure.  With a little experience it is possible to change down either one or two ratios as required.  Manual mode allows the driver to change gears up and down at the required points through all 4 gears by using the T Bar in the manner of a sequential motor cycle change.

                                  Use of the 8000 RPM engine Red Line Limit is possible in this mode.

• Distinctive push button Lighting and Wiper controls grouped around the instruments,
  

• Colour coded Bumpers and remote release of Hatch and Petrol Flap on all models,
  

• General Motors C-3 MAT standard Engine Management Computer System, for ease of servicing. GMH also know the engine well as it is a small version of the Calibra 4,
  

• Gas Struts to the lift up Hatch area, Heated Rear Window with Wiper and Washer,
  

• Twin Driving / Fog lights on all OZ / G models,
  

The rare PA Nero Coupe:

With the same basic specifications as the Gemini Oz Coupe Isuzu produced a Limited Edition called the PA Nero in Japan.  These coupes have revised front panels and  different interior cloth finish.  Most feature a rear spoiler and Isuzu Alloy Wheels; plus the occasional Electric Sun Roof.  It is a different driving experience with revised suspension.

This model features flip up Headlight Covers and full electrics,  with open Head Rests.
